Another important area where I see us moving and advancing is mobility: smartphones, the tablet world, the ‘bring your own device’ trend – the world of access generally is pushing and accelerating the need for cloud. IT departments are having to facilitate mobility and the BYOD trend through cloud-like environments, and are making the jump to cloud in order to enable that.
I also see public cloud adoption accelerating, but specifically around software-as-a-service. I believe especially in the SaaS market, that customers will jump to software based solutions, bypassing infrastructure on the way, and look to find the benefits in standardized applications. In terms of private cloud, I see people accelerating their infrastructure projects – and either getting infrastructure-as-a-service in place or moving right to self-built paths.
IT in Canada: That's interesting because in the conversations that we have with customers, we are also getting the impression that adoption is building. But the media’s view is a rarified one. Do you have any specific reasons for believing that the education is somehow getting out there?
